Ending of a LONG school year!!!

It's crazy how school is winding down and yet I can’t  help but to think about things I would like to do next year. As I run frantic to make sure things are put away and in place for next year my mind continuous turns with ideas of Fluency camps, speech contracts, and ways to get teachers and parents more involved. I wish I can say the life of a school SLP is done at the end of the year; however, if you are a true lover of our great profession your mind continuously turns with ideas and things to help the kids be successful. Just today I laughed with a co-worker as I said “I will not buy anything new for the kids this summer; we have so much already and this room is too small” and she quickly responded with “Yeah right”.

You see even though as a school SLP I feel like this by the end of year.

My love for the profession continuously drives me and is what truly pushes me forward each and every day. With that being said, I would like to thank all the school SLP’s out there for all their hard work and dedication. Many times school SLP’s are under paid and overworked; however, we wake up each and every day with a new found love for what we do.

To all the school SLP’s continue to create awesome therapy activities, inspire students, educate parents, and most importantly have a GREAT AND RESTFUL summer vacation you desire it!!
