The loss of good Nursery Rhymes

I've noticed in the past few years from just working with young children in various settings, that the “Good Old “ nursery rhymes that I loved to sing so much as a child have slowly faded themselves into non-existence. Don’t get me wrong I love a good Dr. Jean songs, but I do miss the traditional nursery rhymes like the"Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Humpty Dumpty", and "B-I-N-G-O" (in their original tunes). So, in my quest to re-populate some of what I feel were the best Nursery Rhymes ever; I have decided to attach a link containing the lyrics of Nursery Rhymes many of us grew up on. These songs not only taught us new vocabulary, engaged our curiosity (which prompted questions), but they promoted literacy. So, I say to my fellow teachers, parents, and colleagues let’s enhance our children’s literacy skills and vocabulary while bringing back a little of our childhood.

Songs that I will be uploading under the Printables tab include:

 Jack and Jill
 Itsy Bitsy Spider
 Hickory, Dickory, Dock
 Humpty Dumpty
 B-I-N-G-O
 Mary had a Little Lamb
 Peter Piper
 One, Two, Buckle my shoe!
