Adjectives...Don't let them drive you crazy

Do you have a client or student working on adjectives and you're running out of ways to address it? Maybe you just need a new approach to addressing this skill. Or, perhaps your an school based SLP and you feel like you are teaching adjectives and need a little help on making this concept fun. If so, I have created a small packet to get you started or to provide something new and different for your client/students.

In this packet I have broken down ways to assist kids in understanding adjectives. After working with a young man who seem not to grasp the concept of an adjective. I decided to take a new approach to the way I was presenting this particular skill.

Note: The packet consists of 7 printable worksheets.

I have learned just like some adults, most children are visual learners, and need information in chunks. So this is how I chose to layout this worksheet for addressing adjectives.

Taste (What does it taste like?)
Smell (What does it smell like?)
Feel (What does it feel like?)
Sound (What does it sound like?)
See (What do you see?)

How I used the packet:
I presented the student/client with an object/items that is exact to the picture that is provided on the sheet. Using the chart we went through each group on the chart and placed words that described the picture/item and fit in the category.

If you are interested in trying out this packet, just look under the "Printables" tab.

*Note: Parents reading this post you too can also help with your child's ability to use and understand adjectives. Feel free to post and utilize. Remember practice make perfect.

I hope this helps!!
